How to avoid getting your text rejected on Roblox
- Account Usernames: Only alphanumeric characters and single underscores are allowed. No Unicode.
- Display Names: Limited to 20 code points. Keep glitch intensity low to ensure it passes the character length filter.
- Chat Filter: since March 2026, Roblox no longer replaces flagged chat text with #### — it uses AI "chat rephrasing" to reword the message instead. Heavy glitch intensity that reads as an attempt to hide a link or word is still liable to get rewritten, not just tagged.
- Age-Gated Chat: as of January 2026, Roblox requires an age check for chat and splits filtering into two tiers (13+ Filtering, Maximum Filtering for under-13 accounts) — under-13 chat is filtered far more aggressively, so heavy glitch text is more likely to be caught there than in 13+ chat.

Why did my glitch text get rewritten instead of turning into hashtags (####)?
Roblox retired the old #### replacement in March 2026 in favor of AI "chat rephrasing" — if the filter believes chaotic combining marks are an attempt to bypass profanity filters or hide contact info, it now rewrites the message into a cleaner version instead of tagging it. Lower the intensity sliders to keep characters recognizable and avoid triggering it.
Does Roblox filter glitch text differently for kids and adults?
Yes. Since January 2026, Roblox requires an age check to use chat and applies stricter "Maximum Filtering" to under-13 accounts versus "13+ Filtering" for older users — the same glitch text is more likely to get caught or rewritten in under-13 chat than in 13+ chat.
