Instant Glitch Presets
Built for Discord, Roblox and Minecraft gamer tags
"Cursed text" is the name this effect goes by mostly in gaming and Discord communities, usually for usernames, nicknames and status text rather than long captions. Those fields are often short and byte-limited, so this page starts at a lower default intensity than the zalgo preset — enough to look cursed without immediately getting trimmed.
Turn the sliders up if you want it heavier, or check the renderability badge under the output before you commit it as a permanent username — some platforms enforce stricter limits than others.
How to avoid having your cursed username rejected
Many games and chat apps differentiate between your permanent login handle and your public display nickname. For example, Roblox login handles require strict alphanumeric characters, while Roblox display names and profile bios accept rich Unicode text.
Similarly, Discord server nicknames have a strict 32-character limit that counts individual Unicode code points rather than visible letters. Using our lightweight cursed preset ensures your nickname fits comfortably within byte constraints without getting rejected.
Cursed text for Discord server channels and nicknames
Server administrators frequently use cursed text to create spooky Halloween server events, horror RPG channels, or eye-catching voice channel titles.
When creating Discord channel names, note that Discord converts text to lowercase and replaces spaces with hyphens. Cursed Unicode text retains its combining marks cleanly across channel lists on desktop and mobile clients.
Frequently asked questions
Will Discord let me use cursed text as my username?
Discord accepts Unicode text in server nicknames, display names, and chat messages. For account usernames (@handles), only standard alphanumeric characters and periods are permitted.
Does Roblox support cursed text in usernames or bios?
Roblox supports Unicode text in profile bios and about sections. Account usernames are restricted to alphanumeric characters, but your in-game display name often accepts aesthetic Unicode formatting.
Can I use cursed text in Minecraft chat and server names?
Yes. Minecraft chat on modern Java and Bedrock editions supports Unicode text, allowing players to type cursed messages, signs, book titles, and custom item names.
Why did my cursed text get rejected when I pasted it?
If a platform rejects your text with a "name too long" error, the field is calculating character length by raw Unicode code points. Reduce the intensity sliders to decrease the mark density per character.
Is cursed text free to copy and paste?
Yes, completely free with no limits, no account creation, and no watermarks. Generate as many cursed phrases as you need.
What is the difference between cursed text and zalgo text?
They rely on the same Unicode diacritic technique. "Cursed text" is popular in modern gaming and meme culture, often featuring cleaner, more controlled intensity, whereas "zalgo" traces back to creepypasta horror fiction.
